I had the opportunity to back to back compare a 375MM with a 289 Cobra. The cars handled very similar but the Cobra was faster 0-100. However the Cobra ran out of breath at 150mph while the Ferrari felt as if it could have reached 175mph. This was done on a designated road racing course.
Epic
Heaven 'does exist and it's painted red.
The show was great, it used to be on the Speed Vision network with a new classic high performance episode every month, And he used to really put expensive cars through their paces on those winding, narrow tree lined roads.
See him in spitfire video hilarious!
To watch him nonchalantly drift this priceless treasure on wet roads was anxiety inducing at first but soon we realized Alain had everything well in hand.
Alain always had as much class as the beautiful cars he drove !
Class is permanent.
Nice song choice👍
Pretty sure I could listen to DeCadenet read the pone book.
Lenkrad auf der falschen Seite😅
Very few of these were made. I believe this is the optional 400hp variant of the 413, with the Pont-A-Mousoon 4-speed. I also believe Richard Petty owns one of these.
What travelling is meant to be.
How to insert the router?? Can you share how can do it??
First-hand experience: Driving my mom’s early 1960s Chryslers in my mid-teens, none of them were “letter” cars but they’d all top 120 mph. The only problem was, you had only one chance to get them slowed down. The drum brakes would fade to near zero after a single major deceleration. This was the norm for that era.
Nice driving gentleman !!!!
Wow. Sounds like heavy rain in Florida. I ve never driven even new car that fast. I can imagine what a wonderful feeling driving a heavy , smooth car. With fantastic recirculating ball power steering. Use pinky to turn. Too bad the herd mentality, build it they will come... SUV nutty ness. Not even new $150,000. ( CrAzZy) Cadillac SUV drives that good. Drove a couple old cars like that when kid. Always wanted one. What's new is not always Better.
It used to be trendy to use fake French style names. eg St Pierre wight
It’s his real name
Hey Eric , Nice one ,I built that one! Its a 63 ...
Of course we watch these beautifully made videos mostly for the special cars, but this time I watched to see Alain. I cannot believe he is gone. He was beyond special. The perfect combination of a gentleman and racer. He is missed terribly.
You are right. Yes, this is a video made by Bohams to incentive the Plus being sold, but he never, ever, faked his emotions. And in time, as a Le Mans and WSC historian and writer of the "Golden Age" between 1950 and 1974, I know why he was the way he was. He was a designer, technician, mechanic chief and driver. He felt the cars. He ran them. Just like the Legend of Rondeau. A men that started from nothing and built and raced cars that could go as fast as Matras, Ferrari or Mirage. All by himself. When a men can do such, he cannot help himself but TRUELY feel and know the effort and uniqueness behind every car, no matter what...big or small, successful or not... He felt them to their very core. The passion put inside them. He could feel the very soul of each of these miths that made history of motorsport. A Gentlemen driver, maybe the last one in order of generations to race at Le Mans with his creatures... ❤ Goodspeed in the Heavens of Speed, Alain! 🫶🏼
Not forgetting a nod to Mike Hawthorn with those sunglasses and the cap!
Que bonito
Imagine spending all that money to get passed by a hairdresser driving a Miata
I was sorry to hear of Alain's recent passing. I have the entire Victory by Design series he did on various marques . . . such a pleasure to watch . . . not only the cars, but his knowledge of them.
Wow you have guts! You may have gotten a little more out of it with the windows closed.
Reminds me of my 1961 300G w/Factory 3-speed stick. That car could cruise all day over 100 mph and not work up a sweat. I always regret selling it.
RIP Alain De Cadanet
Now that's a awesome sounding flatty music to my ears and a awesome video thanks for sharing this with us
Awesome wind noise.
That steering wheel 🤤
He is definitely a NASCAR racer :)
He is quite a NASCAR driver :)
Bloody music. Won't be watching this channel again.
I’m looking at buying a 20” lathe that looks extremely similar in o this that’s been setting for a very long time but the carriage is very hard to move more so backward than forwards but tuff either direction I think the clutches that engage the power feeds are sticking to you have any kind of paperwork on this machine that might help me out?
The music is absolutely magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember Wayne Carini trying to " steal " one from the deceased owner's brother for $375K. The guy is a snake in the grass and looks like a gerbil.
Quiet ride. 🙄
Static / window down ??? Beautiful car there
Free Penny! Feed many! 🏝🛸🐢♥️,,,,
The windows should have been closed.
What in the hell is a GT Special ???
Rare 4-speed manual transmission.
Very nice work stand. You inspired me to improve one I built several years ago. Great video.
What an incredible machine!!!!
Truly a great addition to anyone's garage.
Film crew didn't spend much time with the engine did they?
Love the external shift gates on those classic Ferraris.
Standard gated shift
eric you need to put that sweet engine in a street rod and ride it
Hot stuff 70 yrs ago. COOL stuff today.
How stupid to hear music instead of the engine !
Is there other pictures of the car please..!
Nice! Just needs a 34 Ford Coupe ( with the old wire wheels, you know, Proper old school Hot Rod ) to live in and bring joy to the world of shitbox Kia, drivers etc.
